You will be tasked with leading the development of a vertically integrated tech stack for our multi-concept kitchens, building some nodes from scratch while integrating existing off-the-shelf solutions where appropriate.As an early member of the team you will have significant autonomy, and be involved in both the day-to-day and strategic decisions of Byte Kitchen. You will steer the direction of our technology products, and join an engineering culture that champions empathy for the end user. If you are passionate about building technology to power the future of the restaurant industry, this is the right role for you.Responsibilities:Build and guide our growing team and evolving product as an early technology team memberDevelop an in-depth understanding of our business model, space, and end userAssist in developing our technology roadmap for both the near and long termWork closely with the founding team on product direction decisions and strategyApproach tired problems with impassioned energy and creative solutionsWork with the founders to attract and employ likewise impassioned engineers set on bringing BK's vision to life.Ideal experience:4+ years experience as a full stack engineer/ solutions architectProficiency in front end languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and Javascript Frameworks (React)Proficiency in server-side languages (NodeJS ideal)Experience with Cloud (AWS, Firestore ideal)Comfort with Database technology (MySQL, Postgres)Experience building products from scratchExcellent problem solving and communication skillsBonus:Startup experience / experience in food tech or logistics companiesYou are:Scrappy: you know when to prioritize speed over scalability and are comfortable making those decisionsComfortable with ambiguity: some things you work on may never become full products.
