About the role

We’re firmly on the journey to building a platform that spins up unlimited community engagement websites in an instant. Now we need your help to make it effortless and habit-forming for communities.

As Principal Dev-Ops Engineer at Commonplace, you will be the driver of everything dev-ops and infrastructure, helping shape our community engagement platform that is used by millions of people in the UK and soon internationally to actively shape the places and the services where we live, work and relax. You’ll be building, re-building, updating, and maintaining a multi-layered and multi-system infrastructure to support daily releases of our multi-language, geo-spacial, and multi-versioned platform.

Our dev-ops stack: AWS (S3, Lambdas, EC2, CodePipeline, etc.), MongoDB, DynamoDB, PostgresQL, Terraform, Tekton, Kubernetes, GraphQL, GitHub, and much more…

Our development stack: AWS, MongoDB, NodeJS, ReactJS, NextJS, Styled Components, Jest, Cypress

About you

Skills and experience

Ability to articulate technical problems to non-technical audiences.
Experience with testing and debugging.
Keen eye for detail.
Great problem-solving skills .
Familiarity with working remotely and with a mostly remote team.
Curious about new technologies and you're driven to find ways to implement them in your work.
Autonomous, tolerance to a fast paced / fast changing environment.
Understanding of software development lifecycle.

Knowledge

Strong understanding of each network layer and how to work within them all.
Strong knowledge of AWS and its subsystems.
Knowledge of Terraform and Tekton.
Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.

Compensation and benefits

£65,000 - £75,000 salary, with a company bonus potential, and an equity component once you’ve settled in.
