You'll have the opportunity to manage one of our current teams, or help with hiring and building out our next teams depending on your skills and interests. You'll also play a key role in shaping our engineering processes and culture.This is an opportunity to join as an early manager at a company with product-market fit that still has huge amounts of room to grow. We’re competing with legacy accounting and audit products that are 20+ years old and have negative NPS, yet do billions in sales and have seen little competition in a decade.Responsibilities<ul><li>Be directly responsible for leading the day-to-day execution of at least one engineering team.</li><li>Build a trusting, inclusive, and high performance team that consistently executes on company goals and initiatives.</li><li>Coach and mentor engineers as they grow in their careers. Provide direct feedback on performance and ensure they are equipped for career progression within our leveling system.</li><li>Play a lead role in quarterly and sprint-level strategy and planning for the team.</li><li>Build trusting relationships product, design, other engineering teams, and key business stakeholders.</li><li>Lead education and training initiatives within and across teams, implementing standards, processes, documentation, and more that enables the entire engineering, product, and design organization to thrive.</li><li>Partner closely with recruiting teams and company leaders to improve our hiring processes, ensuring teams can hire the right talent as it scales.</li></ul>You’ll need to have experience with several the following<ul><li>Modern web tech stacks consisting of several of the following: TypeScript, React, GraphQL, NodeJS, Hasura, Redis, Postgres, and AWS. While you may not be coding every day, you should have technical expertise in many of these technologies.</li><li>Architecting systems and data pipelines that can handle the ingestion, digitalization, storage, and retrieval of document-heavy data sets, including document processing, search, and classification (ML experience is a plus)</li><li>DevOps and continuous integration/delivery best practices</li><li>Information security best practices</li><li>Collaborating on all aspects of product strategy and UX</li><li>Helping to shape the direction of the tech stack, product, and engineering organization‍</li></ul>About Fieldguide‍Fieldguide is an automation and collaboration platform for modern assurance and advisory firms that digitizes the end-to-end engagement workflow on a single platform. This person will report to Fieldguide’s CTO and partner with stakeholders across the organization as we tackle the massive, archaic audit and advisory industry.Responsibilities<ul><li>Play a lead role in defining and building Fieldguide’s systems and infrastructure so that it can scale effectively with the demands of a quickly growing customer base</li><li>Partner with engineers, helping to ensure that new features are able to be continuously delivered in a scalable and reliable manner</li><li>Focus on observability of production systems and services, ensuring that instrumentation, monitoring, alerting, logging, and dashboards are in place</li><li>Implement best practices for incident management and on-call, empowering engineering teams to own Fieldguide’s products and services</li><li>Implement, refine, and scale SRE and DevOps best practices with an eye towards ensuring Fieldguide’s products consistently deliver a world class user experience</li><li>Contribute to Fieldguide’s engineering culture, assisting with hiring and team development</li><li>Bring first principles thinking and a focus on continuous improvement to all aspects of your work</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>5+ years of overall experience in SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure roles, much of that focused on running mission critical B2B SaaS infrastructure</li><li>Significant experience with AWS, Docker, and Terraform.
