Furthr is a rapidly-growing sustainable subscription service that makes climate action easy for businesses and individuals. Each month, our planet-savers plant trees and fast-track critical renewable energy solutions across the globe, all whilst reducing their own footprints through our personal green living engine. As a fun reward, they're then entered into our monthly Tree-wards draws - with eco goodies, experiences, more trees and cash prizes up-for-grabs!

We’ve built a monthly active user base of 2.5k+ and we are growing more each and every day. Our service covers both consumers and businesses, and we have over 48 businesses live and incoming over the next 2 months - including 2 FTSE100s. We're targeting over 30,000 active users and are well on our way to planting over 2m protected trees this year alone.

We've completed our first round of funding, raising £220k and building a strategic board that have given us competitive advantage within our market. Our Tech Lead Role

Having now validated our product and having built out our existing community, we are looking for a new Tech Lead to help take our platform and product to the skies. This role itself may grow into a CTO role for the right person, and has healthy share options included. This will be our first in-house tech team member, and you’ll help us build out the team in the future.

Pre-investment, we built our service in as leaner way as possible on a heavily-customised and integrated shopify theme. However, by the time you join, we will have just released our new custom platform: a React Native app (iOS & Android) & site (Google Cloud as the platform for CI/CD complete process).

This platform is completely custom-built already, and has paved the way for us to start delivering the features our clients & users are asking for. High level view of the stack below:

* Backend: Django3, Celery, Redis, Postgres, Swagger for API documentation* Frontend: Flutter, Sass, Babel, Nuxtjs * Infrastructure: Docker, Google Cloud, GitHub

Of course, we’ll show you more when we talk.Right from the get-go, we are looking for our new Tech lead to focus on the following across our new platform:

* Build our extensive roadmap of climate positive experience features * Build our roadmap of features to enable and build operational scalability * Build our roadmap of business features (incl. API/SSO, which has been requested often by our clients)* Own our architecture & architectural vision going forward* Support on key product management tasks with support of Furthr’s team* Hep build out the team over time

What We're Looking For: Personal

What We’re Looking For: Tech Experience (4-8 Years)

* You’ve built an app with a small team previously* You have experience delivering intuitive and interactive UI/UX designs, ideally gamified UIs.* You have delivered several agile software projects in the past covering a variety of products including APIs and mobile applications.* You have worked collaboratively in a team of engineers ranging from intern to senior architect (but no pressure on this being for a big enterprise-level team!).* You have work closely with management teams to understand business requirement and define plans. You take an interest in business strategy and how software can bring value to the business. You are not interested in tech for tech’s sake.* You have learnt to maintain good quality systems documentation* You have at least 4 years’ experience building mobile applications, ideally with Flutter.* You have good experience developing REST APIs, ideally with Django.* You have good experience of relational database design and management, including Postgres.* You have good experience deploying to cloud services, especially Google Cloud. Experience deploying global, highly available and scalable serverless infrastructure.* You have good experience delivering robust CI/CD pipelines with testing being a requirement from day 1.* A strong understanding of best security practices.* Experience and desire for a small amount of Product Management (preferred)
