We are looking for a curious, energetic and thoughtful Unity developer to join our growing software development team, building exciting and impactful smart therapy devices for people with neurological conditions. You will have a strong understanding of Unity and its mechanics, with a keen eye for performance and a flair for design and elegance. Day to day, you will work in our small agile software team, building features in Unity for our software platform and taking part in planning, prioritization, and evaluation of our work. In addition, you will be a trustworthy communicator and able to work with a wide variety of different roles in our wider team. You will have an appetite for personal learning and growth and an interest in the broader discipline of software development.

ABOUT NEUROFENIX

Neurofenix is a medical technology startup leading the Digital Therapeutics revolution in neurological rehabilitation. Neurological injuries such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury can all cause lifelong disabilities. Quality of life is often severely affected when patients are unable to perform basic daily activities such as holding a glass of water, using a knife and fork, or buttoning a shirt. This situation has a huge economic and social impact as millions of survivors worldwide cope with these disabilities.

Our first product, the NeuroBall™, is helping survivors of stroke and other neurological injuries recover hand and arm function. A digital therapy solution, NeuroBall includes comprehensive training and clinical support. Known as The NeuroBall Package, the device and its associated services ensure that patients achieve optimal recovery.

Designed for use in the clinic and at home and fun and simple to use, NeuroBall is transforming upper extremity rehab by helping patients recover their independence. THE ROLE

Developing beautiful, smoothly-operating user interface components for the Neurofenix platform
Improving performance and quality in the Neurofenix platform’s user interface
Involvement in the development and refinement of serious games to gamify physiotherapy and make it more engaging and palatable
Working closely with our experience designer to build superb experiences for our users

REQUIRED SKILLS

At least five years’ experience working commercially with Unity
Experience working with C# elements of a Unity application
A strong understanding of Unity’s lifecycle and operation
An understanding of performance optimisation in Unity
Good communication skills
Ability to work with stakeholders from a wide variety of disciplines, including designers, therapists, business people etc.
Experience working collaboratively on features in a team

ALSO AWESOME WOULD BE

An interest in design patterns, particularly separation of data models and views
Experience developing games, particularly for mobile
Other development experience
Understanding of REST APIs and their correct use
Understanding of accessibility principles in app design
Experience with unit testing, behaviour-driven or test-driven development
Experience with Github flow and source control
Experience with productivity tools such as Asana, Jira, Trello, etc
