We are looking for problem solvers who are passionate about delivering best in class technology. <h3>WHAT YOU’LL DO</h3>You will join the team focused on delivering core technology used by the front office in Point72’s Global Macro business. As a Software Engineer, you will make a major contribution to the core technology used to provide real time data and analytics to our Global Macro investment professionals. Specifically, you will:<ul><li>Deliver an ongoing feature-set within a complete web application</li><li>Write tested, idiomatic, and documented React, JavaScript, HTML and CSS</li><li>Coordinate with the user interface design team to build an effective and achievable result</li><li>Cooperate with the back-end developer in the process of building the RESTful API</li><li>Communicate with external web services</li></ul> <h3>WHAT’S REQUIRED</h3><ul><li>Proficiency in React</li><li>Familiarity with Angular</li><li>Proficiency with modern JavaScript (ES6+), CSS (Flexbox/CSS Grid a plus), and HTML5</li><li>Deep knowledge of JavaScript / ES6 practices and commonly used modules based on extensive work experience</li><li>Professional, precise communication skills</li><li>Thorough understanding of asynchronous mechanisms used in the modern web development (Promises, Observables, etc)</li><li>Creating self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components</li><li>Extensive knowledge of CSS and JS methods for providing performant visual effects</li><li>Thorough understanding of the responsibilities of the platform, database, API, caching layer, proxies, and other web services used in the system</li><li>Validating user actions on the client side and providing responsive feedback</li><li>Experience with coordinating with server infrastructure for delivering front-end app and assets</li><li>Architecting and automating the build process for production, using task runners (e.g. webpack, browserify, gulp)</li><li>Writing extensive unit tests using automated TDD tasks</li><li>Creating e2e test suites for all components, and running them with Protractor (or a well reasoned alternative)</li><li>Creating configuration, build, and test scripts for Continuous Integration environments</li><li>Commitment to the highest ethical standard</li></ul> <h3>WE TAKE CARE OF OUR PEOPLE</h3>We invest in our people, their careers, their health, and their well-being.
