Senior Back-end Web3 Developer Remote Tech – Tech Full-time - Remote Apply for this job Aragon Association is a small, remote-only and humble team of people that span a broad range of backgrounds, interests, and geographies. Aragon Association has overseen the production of the leading smart contract framework to build DAOs, with toolkits for developers to seamlessly integrate their apps with DAO functionality, and a decentralized dispute resolution system. As a Senior Back-end Web3 Developer at Aragon, you will be joining the Aragon Core squad, building, maintaining, and innovating on the SDK and services used by both in-house and third-party developers for creating and managing the next generation of digital organizations. 💪What do we expect from a Senior Back-end Web3 Developer? You naturally translate developer needs into production-ready code. You always think about the developers using our SDK, why they are chose to use us, their challenges, and the implications this has in our technical design decisions. You take ideas from their initial conception, through technical design, implementation, documentation, deployment, and live maintenance. At each stage of the pipeline, you are focused on high quality, secure delivery. You are comfortable taking ownership of one or more components within our tech stack, establishing best practices in the form of easy-to-understand developer documentation, and becoming the “go-to” point of contact at Aragon. Nevertheless, you are conscious of not becoming a bottleneck on a small team, so you are constantly spreading and acquiring more knowledge across the team. You are enthusiastic to coordinate across our various squads, and further deepen your knowledge of the ever-expanding technologies of web3. You are a natural collaborator. You use code reviews to better understand your team’s work, improve the quality of our commits, and learn something along the way. During daily standup, you know when you are needed and proactively solve your teammate’s problems. ⚠️Minimum requisites - Proven ability to deliver software to real users, ideally in a fast-paced startup environment - 3+ years of experience as a TSJS developer, with specific experience in Node.js - Solid knowledge of languages like Go or Rust - Solid understanding of cryptography - Some experience working with web3-related JavaScript libraries such as Ethers.js - Extensive general knowledge of JavaScript, libraries, web stacks, and frameworks - Knowledge of how to work in agile environments, using git flows, and are comfortable in the tools (e.g. Jira, Github) - Excellent English and technical communication - both written and oral - that is completely free of bullshit 💡Bonus skills - Experience working on open source projects, ideally in blockchain, cryptography, smart contracts, decentralized systems, or any related technology in the web3 ecosystem - Knowledge or hands on experience working with other parts of our stack (React, GraphQLSubgraph, Solidity, IPFS) - Understanding of Zero Knowledge cryptography and applications - Passionate about the possibilities of decentralized autonomous organizations and the impacts they may have on how humans work together to solve problems - Competitive degen score 🧑‍💻 Culture & Perks - We value freedom and responsibility - so much so that we are in the process of taking this one step further with our plans to fully transition into a DAO by 2023 - We're a remote only organisation and we're flexible as to where you want to work, as long as you're within +- 5 hours of UTC - we will trust you to accommodate to best support your team - You'll get a monthly training personal development budget - We'll support you setting up your remote work environment - Generous vacation allocation regardless of where you are in the world The Aragon Association is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and the steward of the Aragon project, a community of DAO creators, developers, and users experimenting with new forms of social coordination and governance.
