Frontend Javascript Developer

Our client is a leading InsurTech start-up shaking up the insurance market with its pioneering Connected Car analytics software. This is an exciting opportunity to put your mark on a company that has huge potential to fundamentally change how the insurance industry processes motor claims and prepare companies for the world of Connected Cars.

They serve the fast-growing market for automated vehicle insurance claims through the processing of telematics data and collection of statements from the parties involved, allowing for accurate and rapid response by insurance companies and a better claims experience for the insured. Based on their success to date and plans for further growth, our client is now looking to expand its small but talented in-house technology team.

The company has an open and inclusive culture and offers a flexible working environment.

Specifically, our client is looking to recruit a Frontend Javascript Developer.

The Frontend Javascript Developer will work primarily on their frontend application with some backend work where it connects to the frontend. The stack is React / Node / Graphql / Postgres, with UI components from both React Toolbox and Material UI. In addition to developing a smooth user experience for their clients, the successful candidate would also become their in-house lead on design, working in collaboration with their current designer. Depending on the candidate, there are further opportunities to work with automated QA processes, continuous modernisation of their stack (e.g. TypeScript support), or performing more design work in-house.

The new hire would be predominantly home-based and integrating with an existing remote-working team. The team are resuming occasional in-person gatherings in London, likely about once a month but negotiable based on distance.

* Creating an intuitive, user-friendly interface for claims reporting and management.

* Writing good quality code following the full SDLC and industry best-practice.

* Contributing to feature and design planning discussions.

* Collaborating with other team members, suppliers, and partners.

* 4+ years working in the NodeJS frontend ecosystem.

* Specific experience with React, GraphQL, Babel, & Webpack.

* Can work effectively as part of a small, remote team.

* Helpful: Experience with Typescript.

* Helpful: Have used frontend automation/testing tools (e.g. Selenium, BrowserStack).

* Helpful: An interest in UI design.

This is a fast-paced company with lots going on. It is also incredibly rewarding and a place where investment in staff is key.
