Tasks

Backend Software Engineer

You will be building backends for our healthcare products, providing APIs, data storage and cloud processing capabilities to mobile and web applications. The tech stack mainly consists of managed Kubernetes on Azure, NodeJS (NestJS / Strapi), GraphQL and Postgres, in addition to Azure Health Data Services. Your mission will be to drive all software engineering tasks from the get-go and provide a solid, easily deployed and well-monitored cloud infrastructure. Our customers are both our portfolio companies and external clients. Depending on the stage of the project you will be joining, you will interact with customers and users from the very beginning. You will closely cooperate with a team of entrepreneurs along this journey.

Our teams are usually small and we are looking for individuals who thrive in situations where they can look at the entire product instead of optimizing just a specific aspect of it. Knowledge of front-end technologies and willingness to engage in front-end tasks will be a huge plus.

We are looking for someone who is willing to go into uncharted territory, for whom the experience of the journey matters more than following a pre-planned path. We are looking for someone who can work with the undefined and who thrives in a team of like-minded people, rather than working alone and doing things by the book.

Role & Responsibilities

• Development of products from prototype through MVP until launch.

• Playing an active role in driving the technology roadmap and innovation process.

• Delivery of the start-up’s software product (s).

• Writing testable, production-quality code.

Requirements

Requirements & Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or other relevant discipline.

• 5+ years’ experience as a software engineer.

• Strong knowledge of Typescript, NodeJS, Kubernetes and common devops methodologies

• Demonstrated experience in shipping testable working code.

• Understanding of front-end & back-end technologies and platforms.

• Knowledge of Scrum or other agile methodologies.

• Desire to work in an agile, fast-paced, collaborative start-up environment.

• Ideally located in Munich or CET time zone
