We are looking for a seasoned React front-end developer who would be passionate about building reusable UI components. You will be a part of a global team realising a vision to build the next generation of application development powered by GraphQL. Hasura is focused on making data access fast, secure & scalable; so that developer teams or API consumers can immediately get productive. We want to get to a world where data delivery is just another piece of infrastructure.

Brief Overview:

We seek a mid-senior to senior React front-end developer who deeply cares about building UI components with quality and craftsmanship. This role requires you to understand the gimmicks of building components that are highly responsive and reusable.

Your primary role will be to build our new design system from scratch, which will be used across multiple applications across Hasura. This design system will form the basis for our in-house CMS to be built and would be used to power our main website and all related micro-sites like the Swag Store.

Contract Tenure:

This role is intended initially for a six-month contract with the possibility of extending to a permanent position. You are welcome to work from our Bangalore office or any location in India remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Closely work with our design team to understand the requirements around the design system

• Setup the tooling and distribution for reusable components

• Ensure the components are built to meet the international accessibility standards

• Build sample applications based on this new design system

• Work with the marketing team to build Newsletter templates

• Test the UI components and newsletters across multiple browsers and devices to ensure compatibility

• Understanding engineering metrics and seeking to improve them

Requirements:

• 3+ years of work experience as a front-end engineer

• In-depth experience with HTML/CSS/Javascript and React/Gatsby/NextJs

• Some production experience with functional, typed languages/tools for frontend development (even side projects are good!)

• Experience and comfort working in a collaborative environment like Slack, GitHub etc

• Interest in making an impact and thriving in small, collaborative, energetic teams

• Good written and verbal communication skills in English

• Experience managing stakeholders from various functions like marketing/design/growth

Bonus points:

• Knowledge of GraphQL/Hasura

• Experience with unit testing frameworks like Jest and end-to-end testing with Cypress

• Compatibility testing of newsletters across multiple email clients

• Good understanding of SEO best practices for frontend

• Design & UX Experience

Location:

India (Remote/Bangalore): we have an office in Bangalore, and if you're based in Bangalore, you can choose to work out of our office.
