ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Front-End Developer to join our development group in building and improving our SaaS platform. As a Front-End Developer you will be part of a team of 4 talented colleagues and work at designing, implementing, testing, monitoring, debugging, refactoring, and optimizing our UI framework and platform to manage Clean Energy assets in the industry.

As a Developer, you will also have an important role to play within your team. You’ll leverage your skills to achieve team objectives, mentor others, strategize to maximize the value delivered, acquire, and share knowledge, bring energy and fun, identify and reflect on team’s issues, contribute to continuous improvement process.

Our platforms collect millions of IoT data points, sanitize them, detects occurring issues, identifies leading indicators to predict future issues, and implement advanced analytic capability on top of this rich high value dataset. In addition to issue detection and analytics, our platform adds the toolsets needs to take analytic insights to action such as case management and work order management.

You will be working remotely, from home in Canada, with an international team (US, Canada, Europe, India, Philippines, Sweden).

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Work with UI/UX designer and Design Team to bridge the gap between graphic design and technical implementation, taking a role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works
  • Translate the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of software application.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize for maximum speed and scalability
  • Be part of our product development life cycle; code, unit tests, code review, planning, retrospective
  • Act as a front-end specialist; stay on top of latest technologies and practices, mentor other developers
  • Acquire and maintain an Agile mindset; maximizing value delivery, high focus on code quality for you and your team, contribute to team’s continuous improvement effort, healthily challenge solutions and status quo
  • Acquire and keep a good understanding of the renewable industry
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

This also means that you are effective at managing multiple projects of varying complexities, driven by continuous learning and growth. Specifically, we are looking for someone with the following background:

  • Degree in Computer Science, software engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in front-end web development technique such as TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, React framework or equivalent (React preferred)
  • Good understanding of Agile mindset and Framework (Delivering value, not just code)
  • Familiar with Git, Jira and Confluence
  • Result oriented with attention to details
  • Able to rally to team or organization decisions under adversity
  • Curious and proactive about new trends in technology
  • A product-minded developer who cares about the "Why" - Why build this feature? How will we measure impact?
  • Bilingualism (French) is highly preferred.
Nice to have:
  • Knowledge of Cloud programming and infrastructure as code (AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of C#, SQL, PostgreSQL, and CI/CD Pipelines
  • Experience with Redux
  • Experience with Storybook
