The Role: Pre-Sales Engineer (SaaS)
Location: London (Liverpool St.)
Package: Salary in the range of £90 - 100k with benefits including 25 days holiday, pension, BUPA health, gym membership.

This Pre-Sales role is a London based position but will be supporting the global technology solutions for a market leading listed SaaS and connectivity business.

This is a company that is in a good place post lockdown, as their SaaS products and solutions give a huge amount of flexibility within the workplace and commercial real estate sector, powering the technology behind flexible workspace in over 27 different countries. The are ambitious, have a lot of financial firepower to invest in advancement of technology and are in a global market that is growing rapidly YoY.

The Pre-Sales Engineer is a new position that will support product, operations and the revenue teams and is a software bias role that will also touch on connectivity and IOT. You'll be the SME and able to convey to prospects not only the technical benefits of the company products, but how they are designed, deployed and secured. You will form the bridge between the sales teams and the prospective customers, and the product and technical teams within the organisation.

This is a customer facing, commercial savvy role, so while you should have a good breadth and depth of technical knowledge in the areas of 1.) software design 2.) networking and 3.) security. Along with technical knowledge, you are going to need the interface and communication skills to build relationships both externally and within the business.

Key areas that the role will touch on:

* Understand the customer's needs and establish the company product as the best solution that solves the customer's challenges.
* Supporting the sales teams with pre- and post- sales activities, providing up to date technical knowledge of how the products are built and operate.
* Build and present customized demos of company products.
* Clearly explaining technical, design and security aspects of products to prospects - both technical and non technical.
* Working closely with the Product, Development and Technical teams to review prospects' requirements and influence the roadmap.
* Produce bid documentation and handle technical RFP responses.
* Perform product demos, and illustrate how our products can address prospects' needs.

Your background:

We are looking to talk with people that come from a SaaS bias background with solid understanding of networking connectivity and associated security. It's pre-sales, so we not looking for a technical architect and you'll need to point to either that pre or post sales track record but to list technologies, this would be the perfect mix, with software / SaaS knowledge being the key, followed by network connectivity:

* General software design principles, and familiarity with:
o Front-end technologies
o Back-end technologies
o Databases
o Microservices
o APIs (particularly REST)
o Software integration patterns

* Some knowledge of or experience with SQL, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Python or Java
* Knowledge of the AWS stack, particularly EC2, Dynamo, Lambdas

* Some networking knowledge such as:
o Wifi (inc. 802.1x)
o Ethernet switching
o TCP/IP and common protocols
o IP routing (inc. Inter-AS and BGP)
o Firewalls

As mentioned, this is a new role and as such, you'll get a real chance to influence and own the pre-sales side of the business.
