Role: Founding Engineer (Full-stack)👩🏻‍💻

Location: Remote or London (preferred). Must be UK tax-registered. 🌍

Schedule: Full-time, permanent, flex-working ⏰

The company

Only 28% of online customers get support in their native language. This not only results in lost revenue for companies (estimated at around $50Billion globally) but is also contributing to global inequality.

At Algomo, we are building an AI platform that helps companies of any size fully automate their customer service in 100+ languages, easily and affordably.

🏆 We have developed a unique technology where a single AI is fluent in 109 languages. All the other commercial players (including Google, Microsoft, Amazon, IBM etc) combined support just 45. 

🌏 With the additional 64 languages, we are the first company to offer automated customer support to 1Billion people globally. Our mission is to facilitate access to digital goods to anyone in the world, no matter what language they speak.

💸 Algomo was founded in February 2020, has a working MVP, and has recently secured its pre-seed round of $1.2M, including sponsored innovation grants from the UK and EU. We are already generating revenue and we are really close to going live.

The role

We are looking for an experienced, ambitious and driven Founding Fullstack Engineer.

You will be product-driven, and you’ll see yourself growing alongside the business to eventually lead a larger team, but you’re understanding that, to begin with, it’ll be all hands-on.

You need to have a product mindset and be able to transform and define product requirements into tech deliverables.

Qualities/Attitude

• Understanding that ‘perfect is the enemy of good’.This is true both in engineering as well as non-engineering roles.
• Ability to focus and work quickly.
• You're interested in creating a happy medium between useful processes and organisational structure vs. retaining speed and flexibility. (For example, you're good at deciding when to prioritise writing documentation instead of getting started on the next new feature.)
• You're equally excited about being part of a rapid growth journey and accepting the innate uncertainty and constant change.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to our product development from ideation to development, deployment and support.
• Help build a robust team and product by actively participating in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
• Help shape our Agile rituals (stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, retros) to facilitate continuous delivery, provide product feedback and technical expertise.

Qualifications / Skills

Must-haves

• Track-record of delivering well-engineered, high-performance products.
• Robust foundations on web application debugging, testing, profiling.
• Experience with MERN stack, Javascript, RxJS, Python and thorough understanding of coding best practices and patterns.
• Strong communication skills
• Being Team player

• UI/UX
• Distributed computing

• Kubernetes
• Previous startup experience
• DevOps (managing builds, CI/CD pipelines and deployments)

• Competitive Salary (£60-£100k cash) plus meaningful Equity (0.1-1%) depending on experience
