The Opportunity

This exciting new role is available as part of the Overbond engineering team expansion. The position is a unique opportunity to build creative solutions for complex problems using cutting edge technology. As a member of our team, you will be contributing to a suite of products serving the largest capital market in the world. We are looking for professionals who are passionate and excited about innovative technology, have advanced knowledge and experience with data architecture, are well versed in front-end development and automated testing, and strive for visual perfection in software development.

What You'll Do

• Be part of the core engineering team
• Develop creative UI/UX solutions to improve visual attractiveness and usability
• Build new products and features for the Overbond platform
• Develop, test, and ship new features on a daily basis
• Our tech stack is Rails, Postgres, jQuery, React

What You'll Need

• 2-6 years of experience writing client-side JavaScript
• Expertise in building complex layouts with CSS and HTML
• Strong UX and design sensibilities, and a desire to sweat the small stuff - we care about every pixel on the screen
• Understanding and appreciation of colour theory, form, use of white space, and conceptual design
• Experience building and debugging complex systems in a team environment
• Proficiency with modern browser technologies
• Team-oriented, pragmatic, self-starting
• Superior communication skills and a positive attitude
• An entrepreneurial mindset, likes working in an agile environment, driven to ship frequently
• Likes to learn and grow with teammates in a highly collaborative and open environment

What We Prefer

• Academic background in computer science or engineering
• Experience with React, jQuery and Bootstrap
• A passion for developing visually attractive and highly usable products
• Experience investigating and improving JavaScript performance
• Experience with WebSockets, Local Storage, or ES6
• Familiarity with start­up environment
• Experience designing web sites or applications
• Understanding of, or interest in, finance and investments
