The Opportunity

The main purpose of this role is to develop and deliver the front-end component of progressive web applications for the in-vehicle infotainment system in the new generation of Jaguars and Land Rovers.

Additional responsibilities will include complex user interaction implementation, comprehensive software testing, and management and creation of Node.js back-end API services. You will be working within a small Agile process focussed team and expected to be self-motivated and quality conscious at all stages. Team leaderships skills with new technologies will be key.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Deliver reliable code, always ready to release.
Maintain high level of code test coverage – and a reliable testing pipeline.
Ensure delivered code is free of bugs or user interaction issues.
Perform tests including in vehicle validation.
Meet all software testing pipeline requirements.
Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

Significant experience with React, React-Redux or other frontend framework (Vue/Angular)
Significant experience with JavaScript (ES6/7/8)
Strong Object-Oriented programming skills
Advocate for practices such as Test-Driven Development
Experience with RESTful APIs
Some experience with Nodejs/Typescript
Experience with source code management and version control (Git/GitHub/GitLab)

Desirable:

Strong experience with API development and technologies
Experience with API development and technologies
Experience with modern CI/CD tools and techniques
Previous involvement in all stages of the software delivery lifecycle
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with graphQL,
Experience with BDD testing with robot/selenium/cypress/Hiptest/CucumberStudio
Previous experience within engineering or programme planning departments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong influencing and engagement skills
