Full Time, Primarily Remote/Bristol, £40k-£60k

Whilst all our roles are primarily remote, the company is headquartered in Bristol and applicants will need to be able to visit at least once a month, sometimes more, depending on the team and working requirements.

The Role

We are looking for a passionate and driven Frontend Developer to join our engineering team building greenfield projects for the lab tech industry.

Tasks:

  • Work as part of a growing team to build and maintain our frontend applications.
  • Take a creative and collaborative approach to solving problems for our customers.
  • Provide input on design and User Experience where necessary.
  • Take part in wider architectural discussions in helping determine how our products are built.

The successful person will have the following:

  • Proven experience of building single page applications consuming REST or GraphQl backends.
  • Strong core frontend skills (Javascript, CSS, HTML).
  • A good awareness of component driven design.
  • Proficiency using React JS or other Javascript frameworks.
  • Some experience using Typescript.
  • A passion for crafting a great user experience.
  • Version control using Git.
  • Experience of working within a collaborative development environment.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with NextJS.
  • Good knowledge of CSS in JS libraries.
  • Some awareness of component led design and the benefits of services such as Bit or storybook.
  • Experience working within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Awareness/experience using Websockets.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Devops practises.
  • Some working knowledge of AWS or other Cloud deployment platforms.
  • Experience with frontend test frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library or Cypress.
  • Some backend awareness is useful but not required (we use NodeJS and Golang).
