Responsibilities and challenges

DHI is seeking a motivated and independent frontend developer with project management experience to support our advisory services team in Canada, the Americas and globally.

As a developer at DHI, you become part of a global team of architects, developers, and highly specialized domain experts, focusing on delivering innovative IT solutions to local and global markets.

You will have an active role in both design and development of the next generation of our commercial software products and services, characterized by:

  • High performance and efficient handling of large amounts of data.

  • Maximum use of the cloud (PaaS) and the possibilities it offers in high performance computing, storage, and analysis of large amounts of data, IoT and machine learning.

  • Advanced user interfaces based on modern web technologies.

Qualifications and personal skills

We are looking for a new colleague with experience in a wide range of Microsoft technologies and/or web technologies, which is central to both our existing and future services and applications. Specifically, we are seeking a new colleague who has:

  • Experience with most of our core technologies: React, Redux, GraphQL (Apollo Client/Server), Typescript, MaterialUI, Web components, Webpack, Babel, ES6/Next, HTML5, CSS3.

  • Experience using JIRA (or similar tools) to track and manage agile and software development projects.

  • Managed complex and technically challenging projects that are multidisciplinary in nature.

  • A master's degree in computer science, software development or equivalent discipline.

  • 5 to 10 years relevant experience.

  • Is fluent in both written and spoken English and has excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Good initiative, attention to detail, ownership of delegated tasks, willingness to learn and implement systems.

  • The initiative to support DHI product development, research and innovation.

  • The ability to work in a team environment.

  • Can provide mentorship and technical training to junior staff.

  • Excellent organizational skills (record keeping, time management, follow up).

  • A proven ability to independently interface with clients.

Additional qualifications include:
  • Canadian citizen or authorized to work in Canada.

  • Valid passport or ability to readily obtain one.

  • French, Spanish, and/or other language capabilities a plus.

  • Willingness / ability to travel to DHI offices throughout Canada, the Americas and globally.

Office location

Preferred onsite in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Other locations in Canada for a remote position will be considered based on the quality of your application and suitable background for the position.
