About the role

We’re still early in the MagicBrief journey, but our customer base is growing rapidly, and our product roadmap is substantial. If you want to get in on the ground floor and make a significant impact on the development of the product, this is the role for you.

You'll be an integral part of our engineering team, working directly with our founding team. You'll have a significant impact on our product and help shape our future.

We're an engineering-led organisation and offer an excellent work environment with a modern tech stack that includes full CI/CD, a fully supported local development environment (frontend and back), in-depth code reviews and mentorship.

We use a modern stack for design and development, including Notion, Linear and Figma.

We also dedicate 10% of our Engineering time to internal itches, including improving pipeline performance, building developer tools, improving infrastructure and paying down technical debt before it becomes a drag on the organisation and contributing back to open source.

We use TypeScript and build scalable systems so we can continuously make progress on a solid foundation. We don’t expect you to have a background in everything we use, but we do expect strong JavaScript fundamentals and a background working with React, and, ideally, TypeScript.

What you’ll do

• Work closely with founders and design to implement fast new feature concepts

• Building new user-facing features with beautiful and scalable UI components

• Improving application performance by profiling

• Design and develop the frontend of the company's software products using modern technologies such as React,

• Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and stakeholders to build highly-performant, scalable, and responsive user interfaces

• Implement and maintain test-driven development and continuous integration/delivery processes

• Act as a technical expert and mentor to other team members

• Participate in code reviews and ensure that the code is maintainable, scalable, and follows best practices

• Stay up-to-date with the latest web development technologies, trends and best practices

• Work with the product team to identify and implement new features and improvements to the software

Requirements

• Strong experience with JavaScript and web development best practices.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in web development, with at least 2 years of experience building user interfaces using modern frontend frameworks such as React,

• Strong experience with HTML, CSS and modern web technologies such as Webpack, etc.

• Experience with implementing and maintaining test-driven development and continuous integration/delivery processes.

• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to think creatively, and ability to adapt to new technologies

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
