Job Description

The AXIS and Corporate Systems Group is responsible for the development and maintenance of the core business applications that support the day-to-day operations of Fidelity Canada. We use an industry standard development life cycle methodology to ensure that we deliver high-quality code that exceeds our clients’ expectations.

What You Will Do

• As a highly technical Full Stack Developer, you are accountable for developing, enhancing, modifying and maintaining the application and software solutions for internal clients;
• You will work with other team members, business partners and other IS groups to provide innovative solutions that will enhance the user experience and improve productivity.
• Design, code, test, debug and document computer programs based on specific business requirements
• Ensures that functional specifications can be implemented technically while developing and innovating commercial technology assets to meet objectives

The Expertise Your Bring

• University degree preferably in the field of computer science
• 3+ experience with the full life cycle of software development
• Strong Java full stack web development experience to enhance our existing work-flow applications
• Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements
• Strong sense of urgency, tenacity and a desire to accomplish successfully
• Commitment to continuously evolve skills and keep up to date with latest technology
• Logical and clear thinker
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong communicator, both written and verbal

Technologies

• Java
• JavaScript
• HTML/ HTML5
• Angular 4+

The following are assets

• Experience working with web services development
• Bootstrap, rapid prototyping, Kofax scanning technology
• Programming knowledge/experience with Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technologies
• Prior Investment or Mutual Fund experience

Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.
