Job Description

Lumeca Health is a fast-paced, professional leader in the virtual healthcare space. Our mission is to simplify communication between healthcare providers and their patients. Our product, Lumeca Connect, connects patients with their family doctors through a safe, secure video or phone consultation platform. It can even help unattached patients find providers near them.

Reporting to the CTO, the Full Stack Developer will work with the development, design, and product team to build great features, squash pesky bugs, and do other cool things.

The successful candidate should be passionate about building software applications and should thrive in a start-up-style product development team environment. They should be comfortable with bi-weekly releases as the result of a scrum / agile software development process.

Location

Lumeca has an office in Regina, Saskatchewan however 90%+ of the work is currently done remotely.

Primary Duties

• Analyze, assess, develop, review and monitor solutions as part of a development team

• Work closely with the product, design, and development teams to launch new features, fix bugs, and set ourselves up to scale better in the future.

• Familiarize themselves with the front-end web experience and understand what users are trying to do.

• Understand the backend framework of the infrastructure well enough to make suggestions and build features end to end.

Professional Requirements

• Understanding of RESTful APIs and the ability to create one.

• Experience writing frontend web apps or backend APIs

• Experience with database management systems such as MySQL and Postgres.

• Knowledge of source control and using it within the context of a team (for example, pull requests)

• Ability to solve and/or Google problems

• Ability to contribute songs to the Sonos playlist (when in office).

Nice To Have Skills

• Experience with reactive Javascript frameworks such as React or Vue.js.

• Experience with frameworks such as Laravel or .NET.

• Experience complying with security and privacy regulations such as PIPEDA, PCI, GDPR or CCPA.

• Experience creating your own companies or side projects.
