We’re a London based start up, building a B2B payments network. By leveraging technology and collective buying we are helping to empower small businesses by giving them control of their payments and cash flow, getting them better trade terms, guaranteed savings and ensuring they never go unpaid. The mid-term opportunity is a trade network connecting the near £1trillion annual spend of small businesses.

We are venture-backed and in stealth, and we’re now starting to add early users to our alpha product.

We’re looking for a Full-stack Engineer to join our empowered engineering team.

We work in a true start-up environment. Fast-paced, dynamic, often ambiguous and continually evolving. Alongside the product team, our engineering team members balance Lean approaches to validation and learning (EG: quickly integrating with third-party solutions in order to test and get feedback), with designing and building robust, scalable, resilient, bespoke software solutions that add value to our product.

Our engineers are polyglots, always looking to use the right tools for the job at hand. We are currently using Node.js and TypeScript, on AWS, using services such as Lamda and Step Functions, along with GraphQL, React, and Apollo. We also use serverless.com, Lumigo and New Relic. We employ contemporary SDLC practices such as: lean product development, Kanban and continuous deployment.

This is an opportunity to be part of a team at a crucial stage in our evolution - we have a validated proposition and we're fast approaching an alpha launch. This is a rare chance to be a very early member of a fintech start-up.

You'll be joining a dynamic engineering team, in a progressive company: remote-first environment (with an office in Old Street, London); unlimited holidays; regular offsites; and great benefits. And you will be helping us to build a paradigm-changing product. We would preferably like someone who is able to join us in our London Old Street office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

You should apply if:
  • You’re excited about the prospect of working in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up that’s using contemporary technologies to solve real-world problems.
  • You thrive in ambiguity, are adaptable and resilient, are always open to new ideas, and you can contribute creatively to help us deliver customer value.
  • You’ve always got your finger on the pulse of new technologies, methodologies, paradigms, and you are itching to apply them.
  • You’re a self-starter, comfortable working remotely, while being in close collaboration with your team.
  • You’re able to contribute to our constantly evolving processes, culture, and you are continually striving for self-improvement.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2+ years of software development experience with at least two of the following: Javascript; Typescript; Go; Python. Experience using web development frameworks required.
  • Strong experience with AWS services, including storage options, serverless methodologies and event driven models.
  • Experience with contemporary agile SDLC practices, EG: DevOps; CI/CD/CDep; ATDD/TDD; microservices; Shift left; Kanban; etc.
  • Solid knowledge and experience defining and building APIs, ideally using GraphQL.
  • Experience in front-end/mobile development using React with Apollo.
  • Ability to collaborate with others and work independently in a remote-first setting - taking ownership of tasks from inception to delivery.
  • A pro-active, resourceful and inquisitive nature - we think empowering a small number of developers is the right way to deliver software.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation package
  • Unlimited holidays
  • Flexible Working Hours
  • Work perks including monthly team outings, volunteering days off, team activities and social tabs
  • Monthly Wellness Stipend (towards physical or mental health services)
  • Progressive Leave Policies
