CommandBar is a platform for helping software companies make their software easy and fast for all their users.

How many times have you been frustrated by software? Hunting for the right page that has the right button? Repeating the same sequence of 12 clicks tens of times per day? CommandBar makes any web app as easy to use as Google search, eliminating in-product friction and delighting users. We do this by enabling product teams to embed a searchable widget inside their app that lets users go from intent to action faster.

The salary range for this role is $140,000 to $200,000.

Our customers rely on CommandBar to deliver a reliable and delightful experience for their end users. As a Fullstack Engineer at CommandBar, you'll be working alongside the founders on all facets of our product. You'll have the opportunity to own projects that impact thousands of users, in pursuit of a better way for humans to interact with software.

FAQs

Can I try out how CommandBar works?

Yes! We created a site for anyone to try out CommandBar: https://demo.commandbar.com. You can also try us out in one of our customers' products. For example, you can create a Shortcut account to see our widget in a real-software setting.

What are CommandBar's return-to-office plans?

As the COVID-19 situation develops, we'll remain COVID-cautious. The office is currently open to vaccinated team members. We monitor case rates and pandemic-related developments daily to ensure the office remains a safe place for everybody to work.

It's been so fun to collaborate on hard problems and share wins in person. We're also lucky to have a beautiful space in Soma that we all find enhances our creativity and productivity.

What's the interview process like?

Every interview starts the same way: two to three casual conversations with team members so (1) we can get to know you, your background, interests, and career goals and (2) you can learn about CommandBar. After those conversations take place, we'll agree on a written interview plan that's tailored to your role. Usually this begins with a domain-specific screen (e.g. a coding interview for an engineer, or a portfolio review for a designer) and might include a take-home component as well. It's very important to us that our interview process be transparent, as stress-free-as-possible, and gives you an accurate picture of what working at CommandBar is like.
