Our vision at Vivid Machines is to revolutionize agricultural production to help solve food security globally. Our initial focus is on helping fruit and vegetable farmers improve the quality and quantity of produce they can generate on existing acreage while also improving sustainability.  To do this, we are building cutting edge technology, including custom spectral sensors and state-of-the-art machine learning, all while delivering a seamless experience to farmers.

As a Full-Stack Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging problems throughout our software stack, designing and developing robust and scalable solutions across IoT, cloud, and web. You’ll be collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to create an amazing product and solve one of the world’s most important problems.

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate can architect and develop scalable solutions while considering performance, security, and stability. Good knowledge of various disciplines will let you work on software that extends across our entire data pipeline, from our sensor hardware to the front-end. If you are interested in growing in a multidisciplinary engineering environment, this is the position for you!

Degree in computer or software engineering, computer science, or related,

4+ years working experience in industry,
Extensive experience programming in Python, JavaScript, C++ or similar,
Experience with one or more frontend frameworks, such as Vue.JS, or React,
Experience with shell scripting,
Experience with containerization, e.g. Docker,
Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD environments,
Experience with large datasets and management thereof,
Experience with Unix/Linux environments, cloud infrastructure, web application development, information retrieval, networking, developing large software systems, or security software development
Demonstrated expertise of software architecture, implementation, and debugging and database design in a language and framework agnostic way,
Experience with modern relational or non-relational databases such as Postgres, Redis, MongoDB, etc.

Bonus points

Experience with IoT devices and systems,
Experience with mobile application development.

What you will be doing

Collaborate on the vision and architecture for key components of the system design,
Develop core software components, new features and APIs for our system,
Develop core infrastructure components to automate all automatable tasks,
Work closely with data science, hardware and software teams to optimize the overall product design.
