Job Description

As a JavaScript TV App Developer you develop independent, or in a team (international) TV apps which will run on top of the Metrological Application Platform on Set-top boxes from TV operators. Depending on the customer, you will start with your own creativity or you will work on the client’s specific wishes. The result of your work? The apps are used daily, worldwide, in the TV App Stores of, among others, Comcast, Liberty Global (Ziggo / UPC), Vodafone, Fetch and KPN.

Metrological has several teams; App Development, Platform and Embedded, consisting of more than 50 engineers. You are part of the App Development team, including Designers, Frontend Developers and  QA.

Qualifications:

• Experience with the development of TV apps is not a requirement, but you are experienced with the entire software development process (must);

• At least 2 years of experience with JavaScript (must);

• You have experience developing in a resource constrained environment (e.g. limited memory, GPU, CPU) (must);

• Experience with Canvas/WebGL based applications is a plus;

• Experience with NodeJS (advantage);

• You have an excellent command of the English language, in word and in writing;

• You work in a team;

• You show initiative, are pro-active and show creativity;

• The App Development team works agile.

Education

Bachelor's Degree

While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
