As a member of our product architecture team, you’ll guide the design of our products in an organization of empowered, cross-functional teams

On a typical day you will...

  • Work with highly motivated technologists – engineers, designers, and product managers

  • Define and communicate strategies that enable successful outcomes

  • Ensure technical investments are aligned with our vision and strategy

  • Coordinate technology across domain groups to improve efficiency

  • Propose sequencing and execution plans for key technical initiatives

  • Report to senior leadership on significant initiatives and innovations

  • Serve as a role model for less senior staff, doubling as a mentor or coach

  • Provide insights into the technical feasibility of product strategies

  • Frontend: TypeScript, React.js, Nx (you can read here about how we use it)

  • Backend: Kotlin/Spring, Ruby on Rails, Kafka

  • Storage: Postgres, Elastic, Redis

  • Code Quality: Jest,, ESlint, Prettier, Danger.js

  • Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Datadog

About you

  • You are competent in modern languages and frameworks – and have experience with React.js using Typescript.

  • You have 8+ years of experience in software product architecture, with a focus on front-end web application frameworks and architectures designed to operate at web scale.

  • You can demonstrate a solid understanding of cloud deployment technologies and the benefits of headless implementations and BFF patterns.

  • You have 5-10 years of design experience with modern front-end web application frameworks and can articulate the benefits and drawbacks of each.

  • You have a deep understanding of how to design and build complex front-end web applications that are high-performing and support low latency interactions in a big data environment.

  • You have experience building, evolving, maintaining, and operating web applications.

  • You can articulate and lead conversations on the benefits and associated trade-offs between front-end design patterns and practices to ensure scale, maintainability, quality, and effective dependency management that ensures development at scale.

  • You are a strong mentor to junior staff and able to lead and teach others to ensure technical alignment.

  • You possess a solid financial acumen – you should understand the cost trade-offs of various technology decisions.

  • You have experience with Relational Databases, while experience with No SQL is a plus.

  • You have experience using iterative development fundamentals, including SCRUM, Agile or other iterative approaches.
