About the Team

Come and join the vibrant Digital Product team in the ABC. We develop and maintain the ABC's audience facing digital products across platforms including desktop, mobile and connected TV. Whether it is staying informed of the latest breaking news, bringing some great TV on iview, streaming the Hottest 100 on the triple j app and website, or entertaining the kids with our ABC Kids app, the ABC’s Digital Product offerings are some of Australia’s most loved and most used platforms.

About the Role

The end game is high quality User Experience for ABC audiences. The role ensures that high quality software is delivered for the ABC's main web Applications platform, in line with the ABC Strategy and Product & Technology's objectives.

The role will involve but is not limited to;

  • Developing and maintaining very complex JavaScript frameworks for the automation of web based applications.

  • Understanding of systems requirements in order to inform the development and implementation of an automation strategy with appropriate script dependencies, assumptions and constraints.

  • Analysing software systems and collaborating with relevant stakeholders to improve design, including governance measurement to ensure applications perform to specification.

  • Collaboration with API developers to define and implement API schema validation and contract tests at a highly advanced level.

About You

You will have sophisticated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey very complex technical information to a range of stakeholders, along with advanced problem solving and analytical skills.

Your technical know-how will include;

  • Development experience in JavaScript.

  • Significant experience working with web apps, and APIs (e.g. GraphQL) as well as experience working with CI/CD tools in AWS.

  • Experience in testing responsive websites across multiple devices and platforms.

  • Significant development experience in test automation, including developing very complex automation testing frameworks and testing tools is essential.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in test frameworks such as Cypress, TestCafe and WebdriverIO
