As a Senior Front End Developer; reporting to the Front End Manager, you will be enhancing the website to provide Goodfood members with a world-class web experience. You will have exposure to every aspect of the software development cycle to build new eCommerce experiences that will operate at a massive scale and improve the lives of millions of Canadians.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build quality code using modern tooling, testing frameworks and programming patterns.

• Ability to transform business requirements and research into a world-class solution that meets performance goals and brand guidelines in a fast-paced environment.

• Implement responsive designs that work seamlessly across all devices and browsers

• Assess and measure performance of systems and come up with suggestions for improvements

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver high-quality user experiences that meet business requirements and design specifications

• Participate in regularly scheduled status and Agile meetings with the project team to understand requirements, suggest product improvements, explain code design, provide estimates, describe work progress and identify risks.

• Work with the team to implement development process improvements.

• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to others.

• Stay up-to-date with front end technology and web standards

Desired skills and experience:

• 7+ years of working experience in software development

• Strong verbal skills and ability to explain and present ideas clearly to different business groups

• Proficient in web technologies, Javascript and responsive web design

• Familiar with front end performance techniques, recent experience preferred

• Full stack experience is an asset: API design, scalability, database design

• Ability to create testable code and maintain a testing suite

• Good understanding of engineering for the web, http, server api and caching

• Recent experience with React and frontend tooling such as NextJS/webpack/babel

• CSS tooling experience using LESS, SASS and/or a framework similar to TailwindCSS

• Ecommerce experience is an asset

• Backend experience with NodeJS, GraphQL, mySQL is preferred
