fern is a SaaS product that allows e-commerce brands to automate their day-to-day operations, allowing them to free up resources for new product development.

fern is a spin-off of This is Unicorn, an Amazon consultancy that has successfully been helping 100+ e-commerce brands grow on Amazon. fern was initially built as an internal tool to help This is Unicorn automate their clients’ operations.

After using fern in the agency for 1.5 years we are now ready to launch fern as a self-serve SaaS for Amazon e-commerce brands.

We believe that running an e-commerce business should not involve any repeat manual tasks and that brands’ time is best spent innovating.

The first version of fern will be primarily a rule-based automation, while at a later stage it will also incorporate elements machine learning.

We are funded: fern has just won a £500k grant funding and we are planning to grow our team quickly in the first year. It's an exciting time to join!

We’re looking for a Senior Frontend / Full Stack Developer to join our core team of six: a Senior Full Stack Developer, a Junior Developer, a UX/UI designer, a PM and Gianluca, Co-Founder of fern and This is Unicorn. fern will also share other resources from This is Unicorn: marketing, finance and more.

Gianluca is an experienced technical product manager and founder, who has successfully built several tech products in his career, and has most recently bootstrapped the This is Unicorn agency to a successful team of 20 people.

This position is remote but due to a government funding requirement, it has to be UK-based.

Responsibilities

• You'll be the main front-end developer on the team
• You'll be versatile and write backend code as well. You'll learn a lot from our experienced senior full stack developer
• You'll have autonomy to experiment with new technology as long as there's a business need

Requirements

• You have successfully designed, architected and grown a complex front-end
• You're familiar with basic backend concepts and technology
• Experience designing a SaaS  product would be a great plus
• You're very comfortable with our front end stack: Typescript, React, GraphQL
• You're familiar with our backend stack: Node.js, Postgres
