Our organisation has a Demand team (as in Supply & Demand) responsible for all the surface areas where users discover and procure products & apps. Demand also includes all supporting systems that glue these systems together, such as marketing technology and experimentation systems. We are working to prove our Economy thesis that we could treat 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party products the same through a unified discovery/purchase experience. Think the iOS App Store or the Epic Games store. This means there are new systems we would need to build to make this a reality: like recommendation engines and streamlined data pipelines between otherwise isolated platforms.

Atlassian is looking for a front-end architect passionate about building scalable frontends. This role drives the architecture of surfaces that power Atlassian's cross-product adoption growth and vendor marketplace offerings which are critical to Atlassian's growing business. You will own front-end architecture for www.atlassian.com, community.atlassian.com, marketplace.atlassian.com, and our distribution surfaces in core products like Jira and Confluence. Your background:

• 15+ years of experience building software, with 5+ years in an architect role working across teams

• A genuine passion for collaboration

• A passion for performance and the ability to evangelize the benefits of performance to all business stakeholders

• Adept at working with remote teams (peers or customers)

• Demonstrated knowledge in designing and delivering scalable frontend architectures

• High competency in React (both large applications and reusable components) and server-side rendering (SSR)

• Experience with server-side CSS pre-processing platforms (LESS, SASS, etc.)

• Strong knowledge and experience in REST, GraphQL, and API best practices

• Expertise in JavaScript and typed variants (Flow / TypeScript) along with Node and related JS ecosystem tools

• Experience in operational requirements and common challenges of cloud-based systems

• Knowledge of CMSs and site-building platforms (e.g. Magnolia, Webflow)

• StrongObject Oriented and Component-Based design knowledge.

• Developing modern, reliable and performant frontend e-commerce web applications

• Understanding of front-end experimentation practices to drive product and performance optimizations

• Responsive design techniques

• Knowledge of accessibility standards

Compensation

At Atlassian, we tie our base pay ranges to role and level. In the United States, that means your base pay ranges will fall into one of three geographic pay zones depending on your location. Our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

• Zone A: Zone A: $217,500 - $333,500

• Zone B: $195,700 - $300,200

• Zone C: $180,500 - $276,900

Within each range, base pay is ultimately determined based on your skills, expertise, and experience. This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and/or equity.
