About ChangeEngine

ChangeEngine is the next-generation data-to-communication platform that empowers companies to treat employees like their internal customers. In the hybrid workplace, employees are feeling more disconnected than ever before. In order to connect with their employees, companies are sending blanket emails, running all hands, and deploying outdated solutions, such as intranet portals. People teams are not equipped to succeed and are left spending time doing manual tasks. They’re discovering, designing, and executing programs from scratch. We’re here to fix that.

ChangeEngine is founded by successful Silicon Valley/UK SaaS entrepreneurs who’ve previously raised investment from Aaron Levie (Box), Eric Schmidt (Google), and Dharmesh Shah (HubSpot) amongst 30 angels which led to a successful exit to Jobvite in 2019.

Now, we’ve started ChangeEngine to empower companies to communicate with their employees in the most intelligent and impactful ways possible. Delivering critical and beneficial information about what their company has to offer, such as careers, benefits, software, coaching, compliance, diversity, and much more. As a result, we enrich people's work-life experience by highlighting initiatives that are truly meaningful, while staying within their current working flow.

At ChangeEngine, we’ve received Seed investment from Struck Capital, Bonfire Ventures, Builders VC, Forward Partners, Alumni Ventures Group, Gaingels, and Notion Capital (amongst a number of other strategic angels) to tackle the unique opportunity to create a new category and deploy the next wave of employee adoption tech.

You'll be joining 4 experienced entrepreneurs from the US and UK. Together they have already built global SaaS companies and have 7 combined exits. Spanning both regions, they have access to a wide range of VC backing and support. For this venture, they are capitalizing on their SaaS experience to build even more meaningful tech.

Your role

As a senior frontend engineer and one of our early employees, you’ll be key to helping us make choices that will form the foundation of the technology we build. By joining us this early in the journey we hope you’ll be limitless, truly creative and innovative in your role. You’ll be pivotal in the development of all aspects of our application.

You’ll be helping us,

  • Build innovative and exciting features that we’ll be shipping to our early customers.
  • Make our application extremely user-friendly and intuitive now we’re past our MVP.
  • Polishing our current front end, helping to speed up flows and interactions in our product through better UX and UI.
  • Lead the development of our frontend frameworks and UI.
  • Working with our CPO and clients to improve and continually develop our feature set and new ideas.
  • Help our application grow and mature when it comes to customer onboarding features, usability and adoption.
What we’re looking for from a Frontend Engineer
  • Strong background in application development (we’re mainly desktop-focused at the moment).
  • Has solid experience with Typescript, React.JS, CSS. But able to blur the lines from their discipline when needed e.g. creating new database views, querying our SQL DB.
  • Has basic prototyping and wireframing skills to be able to test ideas with users.
  • Contributing to FE technology decisions, can understand the details of our stack and how that applies to your own domain.
  • Evolving our early-stage product alongside a small team, with the knowledge that the solution will need to adapt and grow over time.
  • Can measure their contribution by implementing and owning metrics, for e.g. user engagement, drop-offs.
  • Supportive, helping fellow employees and colleagues to learn and grow. For e.g. active in PR reviews, pairing and troubleshooting with others.
  • Contributing to best practices, culture and more.
  • Adopts Technology (cutting edge where possible), to continue building your skill set and bringing fresh and progressive solutions into the company.
  • Has a real interest in FE technologies, problem-solving, and innovations in development practice.
  • Invested in our application, users, metrics, stories, and goals. Take an energetic interest and passion in making us better than our competitors.
  • Worked in a startup culture before and therefore excited to learn fast, move fast, take initiative and help others.
What we believe is important to the role
  • Is a self-starter, who is proactive in improving and developing quickly as the application adapts to our users.
  • Has or currently is shipping production-ready code.
  • Understands the 80/20 balance when in a small fast-paced environment.
  • Developed a credible application for enterprise or SaaS that is scalable and international.
  • Is using current and modern technology.
  • A bonus if you have experience with AWS.
