Responsible is building technology to enable brands to offer circularity to their customers and keep garments out of landfill.

Our products are customer-facing, brand-facing, and behind the scenes at the infrastructure level. This includes apps people use to send back items (Buy Backs), e-commerce plug-ins to enable store credits for returned items, private and public APIs, and integrations required to prepare and give garments a second life.

Our goal is to grow the adoption of circularity in the fashion industry by making it easier to brands to offer. There are many challenges and problems to define and solve in this space.

We're looking for

We are looking for an experienced, senior-level full-stack engineer, with a speciality or preference in Frontend development. The person is skilled and comfortable in their craft after years of working with real-world production applications. They are also opinionated enough to participate in implementation discussions, but humble enough to be open-minded to others' ideas.

The work

You’ll work on a small, self-sufficient product team to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software across our product line. While you won’t officially manage people, as a senior developer you’ll be seen as a mentor to younger, less experienced developers, and should be willing to coach and provide guidance to them.

Our tech stack

- Frontend: React with the NextJS framework.

- Backend: NodeJS on the NestJS framework.

- Infrastructure & DevOps: Azure.

- Various 3rd party services.

Qualifications

- Bachelor degree in software-related program.

- Minimum 5 years experience writing software (some can be non-resume based but must be provable – i.e. show your personal projects).

- Ability to write English fluently.

- Excellent time-management and organization.

Compensation

- Salary & options depending on level of experience and skill.

Benefits

- Holidays – 21 days plus statutory.

- Computer hardware & software

- Employee discount on premium streetwear

- Cycle-to-work scheme (if local)

- Pension – 5% monthly employee contribution, 3% employer (UK residents only)

- Healthcare – Aviva (UK residents only)

Responsible is located in Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK but this role is available to anyone to work remotely in timezones between GMT+0 and GMT+3. Some benefits (as noted above) are only available to UK residents.
