The Goal

Being part of the Engineering team at OpenBet you will be a key player in creating bespoke features for our key clients across the Sportsbook platform including website and betting engine all powered by OpenBet.

Job Description

The Player

What you will be doing

• Developing innovative new betting features for the platform, with an emphasis on front-end/web components

• Working with Product Owners to design new features

• Designing and developing performance improvements to the platform

• Coaching and mentoring less experienced members of the team

• Answering business stakeholder’s queries about the platform

• Working with different integration partners to solve integration issues

Day to Day you will be responsible for

• Develop new features and functionality for high transaction, large scale betting websites

• Designing solutions that are modular, scalable and portable

• Participate in design and code reviews

• Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the software

• Work to improve overall system architecture and design components to meet those goals 

Qualifications

Key Success Factors

• A bachelor’s degree in a traditional science subject, ideally computer science, engineering, or information systems from a well-regarded university

• Demonstrable talent coding in JavaScript, ideally with strong React & Redux experience

• A talent for building great looking and highly usable web interfaces

• Good experience coding in at least one major back-end language (Java, J2EE, C, C++, Python, PHP) and a willingness to handle full-stack development

• A good understanding of relational database technology (any vendor) and usage patterns

The nice to have

• Experience developing on Unix/Linux

• Web technologies and internet protocols (SOAP, WS-*, ReST, XML, HTTP, TCP/IP)

• Native app (iOS or Android) development experience

• Scripting skills: Bash, Perl, Python

• Experience with Continuous Integration and Automated unit testing frameworks

• Ability to learn and critique new technologies quickly
