We are looking for Senior Front-End Software Engineer to join our front-end teams, enhancing our ability to deliver a strong technical solution in JavaScript (Node and React), helping us to provide first-class customer and supplier experiences.

What you’ll bring to the role:

• You are always learning, open-minded, collaborative, willing to experiment with new ways of doing things and open to receiving and providing constructive feedback

• As a Senior Engineer you’ve had experience in and enjoy leading technical discussions and coaching less experienced team members

• As someone experienced in developing for the web, you have an understanding of the fundamentals of modern web development (cross-browser functionality, accessibility, etc.)

• You will have a strong knowledge of Node (especially strong API design skills) and React

• Bonus points for Next.js and TypeScript

• You have demonstrable experience developing and testing modern JavaScript applications

• A solid understanding of browser rendering behaviour and performance

• Good communication skills with technical and non-technical team members

• Participate in DevOps practices: jointly managing application pipelines and environments (scalability, security, performance, reliability) with our Systems Engineering team

• Actively participate in a wider software engineering community at Qantas Hotels & Holidays by attending and contributing to working groups and knowledge sharing
