We are looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager (all genders) to join our “Vendor Portal” tribe. You will contribute to the creation and growth of our global partner platform.

About Vendor Portal team

We build restaurant and local shop management solutions for the global food delivery market. Our vision is to become the platform of choice where all partners can independently start, run, grow and evolve their business. Vendor Portal tribe is implementing product solutions for running menu management, discounts and promotion campaigns, and digitization of vendor's everyday business through self-service operations and providing thorough analytical insights in a vendor's business. We provide web and mobile-based apps powered by rich data pipelines communication tools for entire markets and customer segments. We are deploying often and moving very fast with self-sufficient cross-functional squads that work collaboratively across the globe according to the "we build it, we run it" principle.

We are a motivated team of engineers, data scientists and Product managers that work on an agile, self-organizing team setup with a strong emphasis on collaborative ownership and focus on moving fast and forward.

Your mission:

• Lead and empower a team of software engineers in their day-to-day activities, defining and communicating priorities, clarifying requirements, and supporting in solving blockers.

• Be an active partner for product management, in order to provide the best value for the customers; working closely with other teams, communicating solutions with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and solving related challenges.

• Be responsible for a set of applications completely owned by the team. We give our teams a lot of autonomy in technical decisions and you will be expected to drive those by leveraging the team’s skills and knowledge, but also bringing in your own experience and insights.

• Monitor and advocate for the continuous improvement of the stability and scalability of our services. The applications you will own are deployed globally to many brands belonging to the Delivery Hero family, so you will work with a tech stack running 24/7 and constantly growing.

• Take part in architectural discussions and decision-making on a platform that is used by millions of people every day and implement impactful and sustainable solutions to complex problems by taking bold and measured risks together with your team.

Your heroic skills:

• You are an empathic and respected leader.

• You have at least two years of technical leadership and people management experience in cross-functional teams (backend, frontend).

• You have a degree in the field of computer sciences, software engineering, or equivalent education or practical experience.

• You are a pragmatic leader who understands what is needed to get things done in a collaborative manner.

• You are capable of mentoring your people and support their growth by successfully sharing your knowledge.

• You are familiar with at least one of the following programming languages and its development stack: Server-side JavaScript/Typescript, Java, Kotlin, Golang.

• You have a solid understanding of microservices architecture, API-based and event-based communication and you have experience in designing and implementing large-scale software systems following it.

• You have experience working with and scaling both SQL and noSQL databases.

• You have a solid understanding of engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, operations, and monitoring.

• You have experience working with cloud environments and managed services such as AWS EC2, RDS/Aurora, ElastiCache, SNS, SQS, and CloudWatch.

• You are fluent in English and can communicate clearly.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Javascript or Typescript and frontend development (React.js).

• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and other NoSQL engines.

• Experience with infrastructure and related tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform).

• Experience with WebSockets and real-time bi-directional communication applications and related technologies.

• Familiarity with common monitoring, alerting, and logging practices and tools such as Prometheus, Datadog, Distributed Tracing, Grafana, etc.

• Experience implementing and supporting an independent DevOps culture within your teams.
