Microsoft’s Enterprise cloud services are some of the most rapidly growing and strategically important segments in our company.  The Office 365 Enterprise Cloud team runs a mission-critical cloud service for many of the largest organizations in the world, including many of the Fortune 500 companies as well as federal, state, and local government organizations. We provide a distributed, scalable, highly reliable service for millions of people. As you might expect, customers of this nature have the highest expectations around enterprise features, regulatory compliance, reliability, and availability and of course about the security of our service!   

We are looking for a Software Engineer to help design and implement scenarios for our customers. You would receive significant mentoring and coaching as you help prioritize and unblock work for our big government sovereign environments. 

Responsibilities

  • Software Engineer working within an agile development environment with other developers and product managers to scope, architect, develop and deliver world-class software solutions. 

  • Collaborate with and assist the product managers to perform release planning. 

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software. 

  • Plan an active role in the design, development, and testing of production software. 

  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables 

  • Help to continuously improve the development process. 

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in front-end web development 

  • Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, OOP and algorithms 

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript 

  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular 

  • Experience with version control (Git) 

  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. 

  • Excellent communication skills. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred but not mandatory) 

  • Familiarity with CSS preprocessors such as SASS or LESS 

  • Familiarity with Debugging and Profiling Tools for a webapp 

  • Familiarity with testing and testing libraries like Jasmine, Mocha, or Jest 

  • Familiarity with responsive design
