Xailient works with innovators and early adopter customers in the Edge AI space. 

We are looking for a skilled software engineer with a specialization in front-end development work. You will be responsible for delivering frontend web application(s) for our flagship Orchestrait™ product. You will work alongside customers, product engineering and graphic designers to realize a UI and UX that meets customer needs.

This role is a full-time contract position, for 6-months, with a view to an on-going position thereafter for the right candidate.

This role is based in Australia. While much can be coordinated asynchronously, you should expect occasional early morning / evening calls to coordinate customers and your teammates. You must be in possession of the relevant rights to work in Australia.

This role is remote and may involve occasional travel (domestic and/or international) for events and conferences.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing frontend website architecture and selecting appropriate technologies for implementation

  • Working with customers, product engineers and graphic designers to go from concept to deployment

  • Working with back-end developers to integrate and complete end-to-end customer-focussed solutions.

  • Conducting verification of the front-end solution using a range of techniques includes manual, semi-automated, and fully automated.

  • Meeting both technical and consumer needs.

  • Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages.

Requirements (need to have):

  • Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS / SCSS, and JavaScript.

  • Familiarity with JavaScript, NodeJS and JS frameworks, working, especially with React.js.

  • Experience with NoSQL databases and object-based storage like DynamoDB and AWS S3.

  • Experience with object-oriented programming patterns and principles.

  • Experience in unit testing and end-to-end testing in Javascript (JEST, Cypress).

  • Experience working on continuous integration environments

  • Experience using git and the command line interface

  • Write clean and maintainable code.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

  • Good problem-solving skills.

  • Attention to detail.

Nice to haves (not expected, but let us know):

  • Experience with other AWS services like Cognito, API Gateway or Lambda would be beneficial

  • Python experience would be beneficial
