The Senior Software Engineering Manager is responsible for leading, mentoring, and growing multiple small agile teams of front-end and full-stack engineers, as well as the design, development, and operation of many marketing websites, a new greenfield buyers experience portal, as well as sales demo. As a valuable manager of multiple small agile teams, you will drive multiple product features, deliver them with high quality and work as part of a team to monitor and operate your services in production. You will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into world-class software built on the latest technologies. 

A day in the life 

• Work with Product Management and Engineering teams to define the scope and requirements 

• Effectively Design, Architect, and plan the delivery of the proposed scope 

• Help with hiring and interviewing prospective team members 

• Mentor and grow talent within Accolade 

• Effectively communicate the status, manage expectations for the stakeholders, and demonstrate creative, technical, and analytical skills. 

• Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in both technical and business environments.  

• Code in front-end frameworks like React & Next and CMS’s like Contentful 

• Follow the processes and use the tools provided by our DevOps teams, in order to get our products on the platform. 

• Contribute to best practices and help guide the future of our application technologies. 

What we are looking for: 

• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in the areas of technical ownership 

• Experience in designing, architecting, and developing scalable services utilizing micro-service (i.e. Docker) and serverless technologies with a preference for experience with AWS ECS and Lambda. 

• 8+ years of experience in building web services, REST APIs, and general backend infrastructure is required 

• 8+ years of experience in front-end development with JavaScript and JavaScript libraries/frameworks 

• 5+ years of experience in Leadership and Mentorship of Software Engineers of various levels 

• Solid understanding of SEO, Image Optimization, Website Performance 

• Experience in building and working in a highly agile, collaborative, innovative, and flexible environment. 

• A strong foundation on Modern DevOps culture
