What to Expect

Be part of the product team that Tesla keeps for itself! We are the Material Flow System(MFS)team and we build software that controls the material movement inside the Warehouses, Yards, trucks and the factory. We work on various algorithms to optimize the space and speed of recovery of material, so that the cars can be built faster. The software is considered as the Central Nervous System of Tesla Manufacturing. We are looking for a highly motivated and self-driven frontend engineer. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building world-class software and a track record of success creating highly and scalable software systems. You will need strong software engineering skills, excellent interpersonal communication, and experience accepting and giving meaningful feedback on technical designs.

What You’ll Do

  • Build amazing web experiences for global audience using Angular or React

  • Build awesome mobile experiences using hybrid/native development frameworks

  • Design and create responsive UIs for all mediums, screen sizes, and device types

  • Build dynamic and customizable screens with your teammates

  • Be a technical lead, develop new features from the ground up and bring proof of concepts to fully mature user facing experiences

  • Internalize user needs and promote good usability and accessibility in every feature

  • Be nimble and react quickly to changing business conditions

  • Work with customers, product managers, QA engineers, and release engineers to own and bring your solution from development to production

  • Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years building web and/or mobile experience with evidence of exceptional ability

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Strong proficiency in Typescript/Javascript, CSS (SASS/SCSS is highly preferred) and HTML

  • Thorough understanding of popular web frameworks and their core principles

  • Ability to quickly adapt to new web technologies

  • Solid understanding of fundamental web technologies, such as HTTP(S), REST, WebSockets, and JSON

  • Experience working with and manipulating responses from RESTful APIs

  • Ability to identify tasks which require automation and automate them

  • Experience with common front-end development tools such as NPM, Webpack etc

  • Fluent in web standards, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility

  • Knowledge of maintaining, troubleshooting, and debugging live software systems

  • Experience leading a team in technical capacity is a big plus

  • Experience with Golang, relational databases and willingness to work full-stack is a big plus

  • Experience with Docker, Jenkins and Kubernetes preferred

  • Experience with UX design is a plus

  • Experience with GraphQL, Redis is a plus

Expected Compensation

$104,000 - $348,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
