Help build, automate, and sustain the infrastructure and delivery pipelines behind mission-critical technology. Join NS2 Mission as a DevOps Engineer in Chantilly, VA, where you'll support secure software delivery, cloud infrastructure, and modern development practices across a high-impact Intelligence Community program.
In this role, you'll work across development, operations, and mission teams to streamline how software is built, tested, deployed, and maintained. You'll contribute to SecDevOps and CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, automated configuration, system integration, and application deployment while partnering with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain SecDevOps and CI/CD pipelines supporting cloud-based microservices and enterprise applications.
- Automate application and infrastructure deployment using tools such as Ansible, GitHub, Jenkins, and Terraform.
- Support the operation, maintenance, and administration of cloud infrastructure, servers, and technical environments.
- Deploy, configure, monitor, and sustain web services and applications within cloud environments, including the Sponsor's C2E environment.
- Collaborate with Agile development teams to support requirements management, sprint planning, backlog activities, and technical delivery.
- Facilitate requirements discussions and stakeholder interviews, ensuring requirements are documented, traceable, validated, and aligned with system objectives.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including deployment procedures, transition plans, testing plans, data validation strategies, and migration activities.
- Support system integration and interfaces connecting Sponsor and partner systems while ensuring reliable data exchange and operational performance.
- Apply security policies, controls, and best practices throughout infrastructure, application, and deployment activities.
- Monitor and troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues, identifying opportunities to improve system reliability, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with technical teams and leadership to communicate status, risks, dependencies, and technical recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Demonstrated experience supporting DevOps, SecDevOps, cloud engineering, or software delivery initiatives.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for cloud-based applications and microservices.
- Experience with DevOps and development tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and Ansible.
- Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Experience supporting and administering cloud infrastructure, servers, and application environments.
- Experience deploying and maintaining web services within cloud environments, including experience with the Sponsor's C2E environment or comparable cloud platforms.
- Experience working with Agile requirements management, sprint planning, and project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, customers, and leadership.
- Experience designing or supporting solutions using relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or AWS RDS.
- Understanding of software testing, configuration management, system administration, and application lifecycle practices.
- Experience with object-oriented programming concepts and familiarity with software development languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing or supporting applications using Spring Boot and Node.js.
- Familiarity with Angular, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS and modern web application development.
- Experience with additional UI frameworks such as React or ExtJS.
- Experience with NoSQL databases and distributed data solutions.
- Experience developing and supporting system integrations and interfaces between government or mission partner systems.
- Experience developing and executing software transition, deployment, testing, data validation, or migration plans.
- Familiarity with the Netflix Open-Source Software (OSS) ecosystem and related platform tools.
- Experience applying security controls, security policies, and counterintelligence considerations within technical environments.

Salary and Benefits Information:
The salary range for this position is $131,644.00 to $219,233.00. The proposed range is intended as a general guideline. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, location, and contractual considerations and may fall outside of the stated range.
