About the Role
Join a small AI team as its first dedicated engineering hire, building a platform that helps commercial real estate organizations research portfolios and automate operational workflows. You will work closely with the CTO and domain experts to turn client needs into production software, with substantial ownership from day one.
What You'll Do
Build the portfolio research and conversational interface for querying portfolio data, generating work products, and running multi-step analyses.
Design and ship agentic workflows for real estate operations, including structured extraction, tool calling, and reliable AI pipelines.
Develop production infrastructure for LLM applications, including evaluations, observability, context construction, structured outputs, failure handling, and monitoring.
Work with clients and domain experts to identify automation opportunities and deliver features end to end.
Collaborate with the CTO to develop deep ownership of a platform area and independently address client problems.
What We're Looking For
One to three years of experience as a software engineer, founding engineer, or founding AI engineer, with a four-year degree.
Strong backend engineering skills in Python, plus experience with TypeScript, React, and AWS.
Experience building LLM agents, tool-calling systems, and multi-step AI workflows, including managing nondeterminism and context.
Understanding of retrieval-augmented generation and experience designing relational data models for complex, hierarchical data such as documents, versions, entities, and relationships.
Background building B2B AI products or document processing systems at scale, and shipping production software in high-stakes B2B environments.
Ability to independently own platform features from idea through production, working effectively without detailed specifications or dedicated design support.
