About the Role
Join a small engineering team building an AI platform for commercial real estate. As the first dedicated engineering hire, you will work closely with the CTO to develop portfolio research and AI workflow tools used by institutional property owners.
What You'll Do
Build and own the portfolio research and chat interface for querying portfolio data, generating work products, and running complex analyses.
Design and ship AI workflows for real estate operations, including structured extraction, tool calling, and reliable multi-step pipelines.
Develop production infrastructure for large language models, including evaluations, observability, context construction, structured outputs, failure handling, and monitoring.
Work with clients and domain experts to identify automation opportunities and deliver features from discovery through production.
Partner with the CTO to develop deep ownership of a platform area and independently translate client needs into solutions.
What We're Looking For
One to three years of experience as a software engineer, founding engineer, or founding AI engineer.
Strong backend engineering experience with Python, along with familiarity with TypeScript, React, and AWS.
Experience building LLM agents, tool-calling systems, and multi-step AI workflows, including managing nondeterminism and context.
Understanding of retrieval-augmented generation and experience designing relational data models for complex, hierarchical information.
Background building B2B AI products, document processing systems at scale, or production software in high-stakes B2B environments.
Ability to own platform features end to end, communicate proactively, and work effectively without detailed specifications or dedicated design support.
A four-year degree and authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
