About the Role
Join a small engineering team building an AI platform for commercial real estate. As the first dedicated engineering hire, you will work closely with the CTO and domain experts to turn client needs into production features that help institutional owners manage complex portfolios.
What You'll Do
Build and own the portfolio research and chat experience, enabling clients to query portfolio data, generate work products, and run multi-step analysis.
Design agentic workflows for real estate operations, including structured extraction, tool calling, and reliable multi-step AI pipelines.
Develop production-grade LLM infrastructure, including evaluations, observability, context construction, structured outputs, and failure handling.
Work with clients and domain experts to identify automation opportunities and ship solutions end to end.
Partner with the CTO to develop deep ownership of a platform area and independently solve customer problems.
What We're Looking For
One to three years of experience as a software engineer, founding engineer, or founding AI engineer, with a four-year degree.
Strong backend engineering skills in Python, plus experience with TypeScript, React, and AWS.
Experience building LLM agents, tool-calling systems, multi-step AI workflows, and reliable agent architectures, including context management and nondeterminism.
Understanding of retrieval-augmented generation and experience designing relational data models for complex hierarchical data.
Background building B2B AI products, document-processing systems, or production software in high-stakes B2B environments.
Ability to own platform features from discovery through launch, working independently without detailed specifications or design support.
