About the Role
Join a small engineering team as its first dedicated engineering hire, working closely with the CTO to build an AI platform for commercial real estate. You will develop portfolio research and agentic workflow systems that help institutional owners analyze complex data and automate operations.
What You'll Do
Build the portfolio research and chat experience, enabling clients to query portfolio data, generate work products, and run multi-step analysis.
Design and ship agentic workflows for real estate operations, including structured extraction, tool calling, and reliable multi-step AI pipelines.
Develop production infrastructure for language models, including evaluations, observability, context construction, structured outputs, failure handling, and monitoring.
Work with clients and domain experts to identify automation opportunities and deliver features from initial idea through production.
Collaborate with the CTO to develop deep ownership of a platform area and independently address client needs.
What We're Looking For
One to three years of experience as a software engineer, founding engineer, or founding AI engineer.
Strong backend engineering skills in Python, plus experience with TypeScript, React, and AWS.
Hands-on experience building LLM agents, tool-calling systems, and multi-step AI workflows, including managing nondeterminism and context.
Understanding of retrieval-augmented generation and experience designing relational data models for complex, hierarchical information.
Experience building B2B AI products or document processing systems, and shipping production software in high-stakes B2B environments.
Ability to own platform features end to end, work proactively with limited specifications, and communicate clearly to keep implementation on track.
A four-year degree.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $165,000 to $185,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
