About Bidaya
We build AI infrastructure that helps Architecture, Engineering, and Consulting (AEC) firms discover and win public contracts.
We are a highly focused team of three, backed by venture funding, and experiencing exponential growth with demonstrated success with firms across the globe. Our team background combines deep industry expertise (We've all worked in AEC) with cutting-edge technology to help professional services firms win more work with less friction.
What you'll do
AEC firms spend hundreds of hours manually hunting for and assembling proposals. You'll be helping build the specialized platform that helps these firms discover relevant opportunities from government portals, analyze them for fit and risk, and draft compliant proposals using their institutional knowledge, turning weeks of proposal work into days.
This is our first engineering hire. I'm Majd, co-founder and Head of Product and Engineering, I've been coding since I was 12 and I've written most of the code you'd be working on. You would take two of the four pillars of the product: RFP Discovery, Analysis, Drafting, and/or Knowledge Management, and own it outright: full stack, customer conversations included. I take the rest.
You will:
Own large pieces of the product end-to-end. You will talk to users, architect solutions, and ship code directly to production.
Write and deploy code across our core stack (Next.js, React, Python/FastAPI).
Optimize LLM interactions, embedding strategies, and retrieval systems for accuracy and speed.
Who you are
Experienced: 3-6 years building production web applications. You've gone from zero to one before.
Full Stack: You're highly capable in both frontend and backend.
Fluent with AI tools, and still in charge: You use them to move several times faster, but the work is very much based on your own taste & judgement.
Self-Directed: You don't need a product manager. You can figure out what needs to be built and you execute.
Bonus: Experience in the AEC industry, Microsoft Word integrations (Office.js), or Temporal.
This isn't for everyone
You'd be the second engineer at a company of four. Low QA, no defined lane. You'll write your own migrations, select and implement new technology, chase your own production bugs, and answer customers directly. The constraint on your impact here is you.
What we offer
Compensation: Competitive salary paired with founding-level equity that reflects the impact of an early technical hire.
Environment: Hybrid role based in Calgary. We have a super nice office to collaborate in person and move fast, but we also offer remote flexibility for deep work.
Tools: A new Macbook, your AI tooling(s) of choice, and a budget for whatever makes you faster.
Impact: Zero bureaucracy. The code you write in the morning will be used to win multi-million dollar contracts by the afternoon.
Sound like you? Let's talk.
