About the Role
Join an AI-powered commercial real estate software company as its first dedicated engineering hire, working closely with the CTO and a small team. You will build AI research and workflow tools that help institutional property owners work with complex portfolio data.
What You'll Do
Build and own a portfolio research and chat experience for querying data, generating work products, and conducting multi-step analysis.
Design and ship agentic workflows, including structured extraction, tool calling, and reliable multi-step AI pipelines.
Develop the systems that support production LLM applications, including evaluations, observability, context construction, structured outputs, failure handling, and monitoring.
Work with clients and domain experts to identify operational needs and deliver features end to end, from early ideas through production.
Collaborate with the CTO and grow into independent ownership of a platform area.
What We're Looking For
One to three years of experience as a software engineer, founding engineer, or founding AI engineer, with a four-year degree.
Strong backend engineering skills in Python, plus experience with TypeScript, React, and AWS.
Experience building LLM agents, tool-calling systems, multi-step AI workflows, and reliable agent architectures, with an understanding of RAG.
Experience designing relational data models for complex hierarchical information, such as documents, versions, entities, and relationships.
Background building B2B AI products or document processing systems, and shipping production software in a high-stakes B2B environment.
Ability to independently own platform features and communicate proactively when requirements are evolving.
