- Apply set theory (joins, unions, intersections, differences, relational algebra) to replace row-by-row (cursor/RBAR) logic with set-based solutions
- Diagnose performance issues using execution plans, DMVs, and Query Store. Review and tune EF Core-generated SQL
- Ensure data integrity, security, and concurrency control (isolation levels, locking, deadlocks)
Development Lifecycle
- Own delivery across the SDLC: requirements, design, development, testing, release, and support
- Manage source control (Git), branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions) covering .NET, Angular, and database code (SSDT, EF migrations, Flyway, or Liquibase)
- Define a test strategy: unit tests (xUnit/NUnit, Jasmine/Jest, tSQLt), integration, end-to-end (Cypress or Playwright), and performance tests
- Manage releases, environments, deployments, and rollback plans
- Contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and risk management in an Agile environment
Operations & Collaboration
- Work with DBAs and DevOps on backup/recovery, high availability, monitoring, and capacity planning
- Support ETL/reporting needs (SSIS, SSRS, Power BI) where required
- Communicate with product owners, architects, QA, and business stakeholders
- Maintain technical documentation and onboarding materials

- Expert-level MS SQL Server and T-SQL: stored procedures, functions, CTEs, window functions, transactions, and error handling
- Solid understanding of set theory and relational modeling, and a set-based approach to problem solving
- Proven experience in query tuning, indexing, and execution plan analysis
- Strong knowledge of the full development lifecycle, including version control, CI/CD, automated testing, and release management
- Experience with database design, normalization, and application architecture patterns (layered, clean architecture, SOLID, dependency injection)
