The job:
As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for analysing requirements and user stories, identifying test scenarios, designing and executing test cases, and reporting bugs throughout the software development lifecycle. You will play a key role in ensuring that web applications function correctly across different browsers, devices, operating systems, and user journeys.
The role focuses primarily on functional, regression, integration, accessibility and responsive design testing of web applications. You will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and other stakeholders to ensure quality is embedded throughout the development process.
Here's what you'll be doing:
Assess the quality of the end-to-end user journeys.
Meet with stakeholders to understand the scope of testing within projects.
Complete Test Plans to detail the testing required.
Provide project time estimates for testing activities.
Write and execute test cases.
Identify, document, and report bugs.
Prepare test progress reports that capture the information required by the customer.
Collaborate with software developers and project teams, sometimes as the sole tester on a project.
Key skills and experience:
Experience testing complex web applications
Experience within pensions, financial services, fintech, or regulated industries
Experience with Azure DevOps Test Plans
Familiarity with SQL and database validation
Understanding of performance, security, and non-functional testing concepts
Intermediate experience in a programming language such as C#, Python or JavaScript
