THE ROLE:
We’re looking for a Senior ServiceNow Developer to take technical ownership of the design, development, and delivery of complex ServiceNow solutions within secure federal environments. In this role, you’ll serve as a senior technical contributor, leading development efforts, influencing solution design, and helping ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with customer requirements.
You’ll work closely with clients, architects, developers, and government stakeholders to translate complex requirements into technical solutions, guide implementation decisions, and deliver secure, scalable capabilities across the ServiceNow platform.
This is a hands-on senior development role for someone who can independently tackle complex technical challenges while also providing guidance to other developers and contributing to broader technical decisions. TO BE SUCCESSFUL HERE YOU WILL:
- Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle for complex enterprise ServiceNow solutions, from technical design and development through testing, deployment, and ongoing enhancement.
- Design, and develop complex ServiceNow solutions, applying platform best practices to create scalable, maintainable, and secure capabilities for federal customers.
- Lead the development of scalable workflows, integrations, automations, and custom platform capabilities that improve operational efficiency and mission outcomes.
- Partner with architects, stakeholders, and mission leads to translate complex business and technical requirements into effective ServiceNow solutions.
- Lead module development, integrations, and enhancements across the ServiceNow suite.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, security, maintainability, and configuration standards within classified environments.
- Mentor junior developers, conduct technical and code reviews, and provide guidance on ServiceNow development standards and best practices
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve platform performance, usability, and maintainability through thoughtful development and innovation.
- Make informed technical decisions and recommendations, identifying tradeoffs and helping shape solution design for complex platform requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform, integration, and performance issues, serving as an escalation point for challenging technical problems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a current Top Secret (TS) security clearance.
- Must be willing and eligible to obtain SCI access as required for the role.
- Must be willing to work on-site in a secure SCIF environment five days per week in the Northern Virginia/DMV area.
- Prior experience working directly on a cleared or classified network.
- 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, including experience independently owning complex technical solutions.
- Advanced expertise across the ServiceNow ITSM suite, including Incident, Problem, Change, CMDB, and more.
- Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, ServiceNow scripting, REST/SOAP, APIs, integrations, and platform development best practices.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex ServiceNow development efforts from technical design through production deployment.
- Ability to independently evaluate technical requirements, identify risks and tradeoffs, and recommend appropriate ServiceNow solutions.
- Strong grasp of SDLC processes in secure or regulated environments.
- ServiceNow certifications such as CSA, CAD and/or CIS certifications strongly preferred.
- Experience developing and implementing systems using Agile/Scrum methodology.
NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous SCI access within the past 24 months is highly preferred.
- Hands-on development experience across additional ServiceNow products such as SecOps, Discovery, ITOM, HAM, or SAM
- Experience implementing automated testing, CI/CD, source control or DevOps practices within ServiceNow environments
- Experience contribution to solution architecture or technical design decisions for enterprise ServiceNow implementations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position is primarily sedentary and requires the ability to maintain focus on computer screens for extended periods. Frequent interaction with team members is necessary to clearly articulate ideas and information. The role involves extensive reading, transcribing, and repetitive hand and wrist motions related to typing and/or using a mouse. WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is primarily performed on-site in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, and video conferencing technology. Work is typically conducted in a well-lit, temperature-controlled setting with moderate noise levels.
