Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable software applications that support Crisis Text Line’s mission to provide mental health support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features and enhancements.
- Maintain and improve existing codebases to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to maintain high-quality standards.
- Analyze and resolve technical issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks promptly.
- Implement best practices in software engineering, including documentation, testing, and automation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools to enhance team efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or similar.
- Experience with web application frameworks and building scalable backend services.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, containers, and deployment pipelines.
- Familiarity with database design and optimization using SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
