SOFTWARE ENGINEER IV and Team Lead
Job Overview:
The Software Engineer IV position is a senior-level engineering role responsible for advanced troubleshooting, quality assurance, technical design, and implementation of enterprise applications and programs. This role provides technical leadership across assigned projects, serves as Team Lead for engineering activities, and functions as the Vendor Coordination Lead for assigned external vendor engagements. The individual works closely with project managers, stakeholders, customers, vendors, and internal teams to plan and deliver solutions, coordinate priorities, resolve complex issues, and support successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Lead the design, development, integration, and maintenance of enterprise applications and systems.
- Define technical architecture, design standards, and best practices to ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering teams through design reviews, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Consult with customers, stakeholders, and project leadership on system architecture, technology strategy, and modernization initiatives.
- DevOps & Operational Excellence
- Design andmaintainDevOps processes, including CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, infrastructure management, and release activities.
- Promote automation, monitoring, system reliability, and operational best practices to improve application performance and supportability.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and quality assurance teams to ensure compliance, availability, and operational readiness.
- Team & Project Leadership
- Serve as Team Lead for assigned projects, coordinating technical activities, guiding team priorities, and supporting successful project delivery.
- Work closely with project managers, product owners, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with businessobjectives.
- Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex technical issues.
- Support strategic planning, resource coordination, risk mitigation, and continuous process improvement efforts.
- Vendor Coordination Lead
- Serve as thecoordinationlead and primary point of contact for assigned external vendor initiatives.
- Coordinate technical guidance, project oversight, status reporting, issue escalation, and delivery expectations for vendor-supported programs and services.
- Represent the organization in vendor-related discussions, planning sessions, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Education:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Scienceor a related field; aMaster's Degreein a related field isadvantageous.
- Experience: 6-12 years of experience with a strongproficiencyin Java and J2EEenvironment, including extensive knowledge in web and middleware application development.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced skills in designing and building web pages using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, XSLT.
- In-depth experience with Struts framework, preferably Struts 2.11.
- Proficient in Java, J2EE, JSP, XML, SQL, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, JDBC, ESB, XML Beans, XPath, Web Services, XSD, SOA, LDAP, Security, SSO, JUnit, Eclipse, Maven, Oracle.
- Strong understanding of interface design principles and experience in creating accessible and 508 compliant sites.
Working Conditions/Physical Factors:
- Primarilyassigned tocustomer contracts with performance based at corporate locations or customer sites.
